Croatia Sea Kayak Adventure Briefing
This magical journey takes place in the less-explored northern region of Croatia’s Adriatic Sea. This zone is away from the more touristy areas of Dubrovnik and Split, which allows us to find peace and tranquillity away from the crowds.
This also means we can provide one of the only kayak camping experiences in the entire country.
We’ll be travelling full expedition style – with all of our food and gear packed into the boats with us. This allows for flexibility as our home is wherever we choose to park it! We plan on exploring several different islands including: Rab Island, Cres Island and Krk Island. We’ll also include plenty of swim and snorkel breaks, as well as opportunities to venture into the historic towns.
As with all Global Shenanigans Expeditions, all aspects of this adventure are taken care of for you. All you need to do is turn up at the airport and enjoy the ride!
The sea kayak is the ultimate way to connect with nature. We move harmoniously with our surroundings, peacefully paddling from campsite to campsite. The boats will have everything we need to make the trip as comfortable as possible.
The total trip length is 8 days (airport to airport), 6 of which will be spent sea kayaking. The Croatia kayak adventure is suitable for beginner-intermediate kayakers with an adventurous spirit. There are also opportunities for more experienced kayakers to continue paddling after we have set up camp, exploring further and working on their kayak skills.

Loved it so much I’ve already booked another kayaking trip with Chris!
What a trip… couldn’t recommend it more. Absolutely stunning clear water and epic views, loved the expedition set-up of carrying all our own gear and camping on our own private beaches each night. Each one different and special in their own way, but all equally magical. And the STARS… wow!
Chris was a patient and confidence-boosting guide with a lot of expertise and stories to tell. I had barely any paddling experience prior to this but felt well supported throughout. (Though I would recommend maybe having a go before booking a trip or at least having a fairly good level of fitness as it’s pretty physically tiring but SO worth it.)
Chris links up with local companies and the Croatian team were all great! Our local guide had a lot of knowledge and kept us fed and safe from storms! And the head honcho was a legend who even cooked for us an arrival and farewell dinner in his own home! Was a really special part of the trip!
Thank you Chris and everyone else. Such a lovely group, which made the beautiful scenery and the whole trip even more enjoyable!
What an amazing adventure, more than I hoped for in so many ways. Chris was fantastic company and expedition leader making it exciting and memorable. The scenery was spectacular and the other people on the trip were all so much fun. I can’t recommend taking this trip with Chris enough.
An absolutely incredible way to experience Croatia! Paddling between stunning islands, swimming in crystal-clear coves, and camping under the stars was a dream. Our guide and support team was fantastic, the group was great fun, and the whole trip felt like a true adventure. If you're looking for an active, social, and unforgettable holiday, this is it! 10/10.
Just back from a great week in Croatia kayaking around the islands of Rab up to Krk with Chris. An amazing week and complete healthy detox for mind and body. Chris collected us from Zadar by minibus and we drove up to Rab island for a team dinner, chat through the plan for the week and good sleep before packing up and paddling out the next morning. We then spent 6 days and 5 nights paddling in the most beautiful clear and warm sea I've ever experienced, wild camping on beaches and breaking every couple of hours from paddling for snacks, lunch, swims, jumping off rocks into the sea, snorkelling, lunch and the occasional nap! Great company, 6 of us in expert hands between Chris and the local guide who also did most of the cooking too. Amazing sunsets, beautiful part of the world and crystal clear water by day and star gazing at night. Highly recommend, don't need to be experienced/strong kayaker to join but good for confidence to have some experience I think, I did a short 4 evening course locally a few months prior. Sign up!
