5 days horse trekking Lenin Peak Base Camp hike Hosted by Chris & local Kyrgyz team Accommodation All meals during trek |
July | Max 9 | $2545 |
Let’s explore one of the most dramatic, wild and untamed areas on the planet – The Pamir-Alay Mountains of Kyrgyzstan.
We will be living like the nomads, with the nomads.
Riding on horseback, just how the people of the Steppe have done for centuries. Our horses will be packed with the equipment needed for the days ahead as we climb high mountain passes and traverse ridgelines, journeying between different nomadic encampments.
This trip is run in partnership with local nomad families. As we reach each yurt camp, we’ll be welcomed by nomads who will take us in for the night.
The host families spend their summers tending livestock and will teach us about their way of life.
After the 5-day horse trek, we will then set off to Lenin Peak Base Camp to stand at the Travellers Pass (4200m) viewpoint and witness one of the highest mountains in Central Asia.

Before I ever shared this trip, I flew out to Kyrgyzstan to experience it for myself.
I wanted to meet the local team and understand exactly what I’d be bringing people into.
It’s one thing to read an itinerary. It’s another to actually be out there. Crossing mountain passes, staying in yurts, and seeing how remote it really is.
I made a short video from that trip so you can get a feel for what it’s really like:
You’ll spend days on horseback moving through remote valleys, staying in traditional yurts, and travelling through landscapes you simply can’t reach any other way.
There’s no rush, no fixed schedule beyond the route, and no signal for most of the trip.
It’s simple, but that’s what makes it so good – a true, wild adventure that can be hard to find nowadays.
If you’re considering it, the best place to start is with the Kyrgyzstan Horse Trek Trek Guide:
– What it’s really like to ride through Kyrgyzstan
– The exact route, camps, and mountain passes
– A full day-by-day itinerary
– What to pack (and what people always forget)
– How to prepare properly before you arrive
Here it is again
