Let’s explore one of the most dramatic, wild and untamed areas on the planet – The Pamir-Alay Mountains of Kyrgyzstan.

We will be living like the nomads, with the nomads.

Riding on horseback, just how the people of the steppe have done for centuries. Our horses will be packed with the equipment needed for the days ahead as we climb high mountain passes and traverse ridgelines, journeying between different nomadic encampments.

This trip is run in partnership with local nomad families. As we reach each yurt camp, we’ll be welcomed by nomads who will take us in for the night.

We will see the day-to-day life of the nomads first hand, as we spend time in their summer encampments where they tend to livestock.

After the 5-day horse trek, we will then set off to Lenin Peak Base Camp to stand at the Travellers Pass (4200m) viewpoint and witness one of the highest mountains in Central Asia, Lenin Peak (7134m).

If you’re thinking about going on this adventure: do it.

I had high expectations and this trip still managed to blow them out of the water. What an amazing experience. If you’re thinking about going on this adventure: do it.

Trip of a lifetime!

A year ago I didn't know there was a Kyrgyzstan and now it's one of my favorite countries. I can't begin to tell you what it was like horseback riding thru a dramatic fog with cascading mountains in the distance followed by riding in a thunder & hail storm to summiting on a completely blue bird day!!! It was INCREDIBLE! We also met the most friendly families on the trek and around the small towns we found ourselves in. I feel like I might have to go back one day. It was so fun.

I loved the Kyrgyzstan horseback trip!

I loved the Kyrgyzstan horseback trip!

Horseback riding through the mountains was a really cool experience. We got plenty of guidance and instruction from the horsemen so it never felt unsafe, and we were able to enjoy the Kyrgyz nature to the fullest.

Our stays in yurt camps with local families offered a unique insight into their everyday lives. The hike to Lenin Peak Traveler's Pass was a nice added bonus.

I would recommend it to everyone looking to have an adventurous trip off the beaten path.

I had the most incredible time in Kyrgyzstan with Global Shenanigans.

Chris curated an awesome experience from start to finish, and as he was actually on the trip with us, there was never a time you couldn't ask him something or didn't feel looked after. Chris and the local guides were just so much fun and great vibes in general, they really made this experience what it is.

This really is a trip for adventure lovers, with a positive team attitude, as showers were few and far between (day 2 we did find a very fresh river which gave us all a great laugh), we were sharing yurts and I would recommend bringing plenty of hand sanitizer...

There isn't a thing I would change about this trip, the group was fantastic and I've come away with the best memories and a load of new friends who are all up for an adventure just as much as I am.

This was my first trip with Chris, but I'm already planning my next one.
